Sajilo* Solutions, is directed by Jonathan Gorstein, PhD, who has been working for over fifteen years to support the establishment and strengthening of monitoring and evaluation systems of nutritional programs. He has been involved with the development of guidelines and manuals to increase the rigor of routine program monitoring to help build an evidence base of what programs work, and where there are constraints that require adjustments in implementation strategy.
He has worked with many agencies, including the Micro nutrient Initiative, World Health Organization, Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), UNICEF, Helen Keller International and USAID. He has significant field-level experience, having lived and worked in over thirty countries, with a focus on Southeast Asia.
Dr. Gorstein recognized as a global leader in the area of M&E in nutrition and sits on several expert committees and Task Forces with the WHO, the World Bank and GAIN. He has also been involved with operations research examining how to integrate food and nutritional support in the management of infectious diseases, particularly HIV/AIDS.
He is involved with the development of a Ten Year Strategy (TYS) for Micro nutrients, an initiative led by GAIN, in close consultation with the major stakeholders in the international nutrition community to identify a strategy to end vitamin and mineral deficiencies by 2015.
